Accomplished Australian organist Marko Sever joins St Peter’s Cathedral Choir, St Peter’s Cathedral Consort, and director Anthony Hunt, in a unique exploration of the influence of chant on organ and choral music.

The concert culminates in a rare performance of a most glorious choral masterpiece, the Mass for Double Choir by Frank Martin.

Marko Sever is Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St James’ Church, King Street in Sydney, a position he holds after many years at the highest level of the English Cathedral tradition, including as Organ Scholar at Westminster Cathedral, where he recently recorded his debut CD, of Marcel Dupre’s virtuosic Passion-Symphony.

The St Peter’s Cathedral Consort is now well known to Adelaide audiences for their thrilling Christmas performances of Messiah (2023) and Handel’s Dixit Dominus (2024.) Here the Consort tackle one of the great masterworks of the choral repertoire, Frank Martin’s luscious and spellbinding Mass for Double Choir.
